thought for the week . . .

  • Paul says I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges (verdict) me.
    1 Corinthians 4:3,4
     
    Paul’s secret is that his verdict has nothing to do with his performance.
    Only in the gospel of Jesus Christ is the verdict handed out before the performance.
    In Christianity the verdict leads to performance.

  • Jesus Christ took the condemnation that we deserved and gave us the favor He deserved. "You are my beloved, and I am fully pleased with you." Mark 1:11
